SoC System Validation Engineering Manager – Penang Site Lead

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SoC System Validation Engineering Manager to lead our Penang site, overseeing a team of approximately 130 engineers responsible for comprehensive SoC validation across the entire system, including both North (CPU) and South (PCH) components, as well as automation, execution, customer enabling, and post-silicon debug.

As the Penang Site Lead, you will drive technical excellence, strategic execution, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment with global validation methodologies and business objectives. This role requires a strong technical leader who can optimize validation strategies, streamline execution, and enhance quality and efficiency across pre-silicon and post-silicon validation cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and manage a team of 130+ engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and mentorship.
  • Drive a high-performance engineering culture, fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the strategic alignment of the Penang site with global validation roadmaps and organizational objectives.
• SoC Validation Strategy & Execution
  • Define and implement scalable, efficient validation methodologies across the full SoC stack, ensuring thorough coverage for pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
  • Oversee feature validation, system-level validation, stress testing, performance characterization, and security validation.
  • Drive horizontal alignment across teams to optimize validation efficiency, enhance debug capabilities, and reduce time-to-market (TPT).
• Automation & Infrastructure Development
  • Champion automation-driven validation, ensuring robust frameworks for execution efficiency and repeatability.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of scalable automation platforms, reducing manual effort and improving execution consistency.
• Customer Enablement & Post-Silicon Debug
  • Lead customer engagement efforts, providing debug support and enablement solutions for external partners and customers.
  • Ensure rapid issue resolution, driving root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions for post-silicon validation and production issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, firmware, software, validation) to enhance customer experience and SoC robustness.
• Cross-Site & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with other SoC validation sites (India, Israel, US and  Penang) to ensure seamless integration of validation efforts and knowledge sharing.
  • Align with global engineering leadership to define validation KPIs, efficiency metrics, and best practices.
  • Maintain close collaboration with design, architecture, software, and product teams to influence SoC validation strategy and execution.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in SoC/System validation, including pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
• Proven experience in leading large teams (100+ engineers) in a high-paced, execution-driven environment.
• Expertise in system validation methodologies, debug strategies, automation frameworks, and SoC enablement.
• Strong technical depth in CPU, PCH, memory, power, performance, and security validation.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing (HVM) debug, failure analysis, and system bring-up.
• Solid understanding of validation frameworks, scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.), and automation tools.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, and business teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to drive innovation and execution efficiencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a multi-site, global engineering environment.
• Background in customer support, field engineering, or technical enablement.
• Expertise in AI/ML-driven validation approaches for improving automation and debug efficiency.
• Understanding of hardware/software co-validation techniques
